The Belonging Index™ measures what programmes actually deliver — not what they promise in marketing brochures. Each programme is evaluated across four dimensions:
Does the programme know who you are? Is your status acknowledged consistently across properties and touchpoints?
Does it remember your preferences? Your room, your drink, your routine — without being asked twice?
Does it create genuine attachment? Would you feel loss if you left? Is there community?
Is membership meaningful? Does access require something beyond a credit card or a sign-up form?
Sources include programme terms and conditions, member forums (FlyerTalk, Reddit, Trustpilot), published editorial reviews, direct experience reports, and trusted editorial sources. We receive no compensation from any programme featured here.
The engine currently covers five categories: Hotels & Alliances, Private Clubs, Travel Networks, Airline Élite, and Lifestyle Cards. Additional programmes are being explored and will appear in due course.
Scores are updated quarterly. Last revision: Q2 2026.
