— How we hold ourselves —
Editorial Policy
These are the standards a reader can hold us to. They govern everything published under our name.
Independence
Escale Privée is published by Arcan Schalier, an independent media house, and answers to its readers. No outside party directs what we cover or how we conclude.
No paid coverage
We do not sell coverage, rankings or favourable conclusions. A house cannot buy its way onto these pages. Where a piece touches a commercial relationship, that relationship is disclosed in plain language.
Sourcing and observation
Every factual claim is sourced or clearly framed as first-hand observation. We separate what we witnessed from what we were told, and we do not present the second as the first.
Right of reply
Where a subject is entitled to answer a significant claim, we offer the opportunity before publication, not after.
Corrections
When we are wrong, we correct the piece promptly and visibly rather than quietly amend it. When credible new evidence arrives, we update rather than defend.
Use of AI
Editorial judgement, argument and final wording are human. Where tools assist with research or drafting, the standards on this page still govern what is published under our name.
Editorial and advisory
We keep a clear line between what we publish and what we are paid to advise. Advisory work, including Belonging Index™ assessments, is conducted separately and never shapes editorial coverage.
For related disclosures on affiliate relationships and how we fund our work, see our disclosure statement.
